ESSMA and EVMI close deal on education cooperation

The European Stadium & Safety Management Association (ESSMA) and Event & Venue Management Institute (EVMI) have entered into a cooperation on the education of new venue managers. ESSMA will advise on the program and provide tutors on specific issues given during the education. EVMI will be a recommended education partner of ESSMA.

The Event and Venue Management Institute (EVMI) is Europe’s leading educational institute dedicated solely to the on-going professional development of those employed in sports and entertainment venue management.

The Stadium Management courses focus on the challenges of the modern stadium property with its demands for safe, profitable, sustainable and compelling visitor experiences and provide the management tools necessary to deliver strategic and operational planning for stadiums.

"EVMI, now in its 6th year, is proud to be a partner of ESSMA, the most important and fast growing organisation in Europe for the stadium safety and management industry", says Michael Siebold, co-founder and director of EVMI. "EVMI has worked very closely with experts who are also active members of ESSMA, like president John Beattie of Arsenal FC. In the future, ESSMA stadium managers will play an even larger role in the educational and training program of EVMI.”

“We truly believe our members, EVMI alumni, stadium partners future course participants will benefit greatly from this partnership. Secondly, the stadium business is changing enormously. Since the establishment in 2007, more than 100 professionals from over 20 countries have participated to EVMI’s courses. The coming years, we will be able to share all the know-how for stadium & venue managers of major events such as Brazil, France, Morocco, Russia and many others.”, adds Ben Veenbrink, EVMI co-founder and UEFA stadium expert.

“I would strongly recommend the EVMI course on Stadium Management: a concentrated course provides an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of event management. This education program is run by experts who have over 20 years worth of experience in the industry. In addition, they are an opportunity to network with the other participants and an introduction into the first steps of the stadium industry market.” says John Beattie, president of ESSMA (pictured).

Alexander Atamanenko, member of the ESSMA board of advisors and CEO of Donbass Arena, explains his experience with the institute: “EVMI gave me a good introduction and practical feeling with the stadium experts. This education was well organized and given by real experts who shared their know-how & experience. Similarly to what we achieve within ESSMA to share knowledge amongst stadium members, the course is very complementary to the ESSMA approach.”
